Man builds Robot wife!

found from Slashdot and other places...

When I first heard this from friends, I thought "wth! it's Chobits!". then spent 1/2 hour trying to explain the Japanese obsession with robots, pretty androids and the basic plot of Chobits to a bunch of anime-intolerant Brits. Chobits sounded bizarre when I tried to tell them the story concisely.

Found the guy's official website today. Pictures look creepy.
